As they fumble through their plan against Julie's husband, Lenny, it becomes increasingly clear that Julie and Don both don’t know what they’re doing. As their "plan" crumbles before their eyes, Don tries in vain to convince himself that every obstacle that they are suddenly presented with, is easy to get over.

"Goodbye, Mama," tells the story of a beauty pageant contestant, Ellie, and her descent into complete madness after she gets into a car accident. She wakes up in a hospital bed to an unsympathetic mother who blames Ellie for wrecking her car, as well as suffers a head injury that helps her along to the moment of finally snapping. Ellie weeps at night as her mother sleeps soundly beside her and suddenly starts hearing a voice in her head that is telling her to do unspeakable things in order for her to be free of her mother's abuse.
